About Mr. Ford

Howdy and welcome to my site. My name is Scott Ford, M.Ed. This site has undergone many changes throughout the years. From a FrontPage site, then to Dreamweave and finally WordPress. This site serves as a launching point to my eLearnings, as well as various interests.

Education Background:

In my opinion education is truly one of the greatest equalizer in our society.  It doesn’t matter how poor your parents or family was. If you get an education be it university or in a trade skill you can choose what type of life you have.

 Only the educated are free.

I received my M.Ed. in 2008 from one of the nation’s top ranked programs at Texas A&M. My focus was in educational technology and instructional design. In addition to this degree I also hold a B.A. in psychology from the University of South Florida. As well as over 200 graduate hours in the biological/medical sciences.

My areas of expertise include: biological sciences, computer repair (CompTIA A+, Network+, MCP, and MCDST certified), educational technology, adult education, and instructional design.

I am currently pursuing an MPA (Master of Public Administration) from one of the nation’s top 20 ranked programs at George Mason University. My focus is on emergency management and homeland security.

Work Experience:

I have had the pleasure of having many chapters in my life with regards to work.  For example when I was in high school I was a dishwasher, a cashier, and a projectionist at a movie theater. I worked on an ice-cream truck for a summer, cut grass another summer, and started my own disc jockey business my senior year. In college I worked for Texaco during the weekends, college radio (WBUL) once a week, and mobile DJ on occasion.

In Chiropractic College I was a freelance writer for two local newspapers reviewing bands and movies. I was a microbiology lab instructor, and an anatomy and physiology teacher for the local massage school.

In my “adult” life I have been an insurance sales person, computer repair technician, an owner of a mobile DJ business, club DJ, LIFE Skills teacher, high school life science teacher, a high school computer teacher, professional trainer, curriculum developers, and college adjunct (Lone Star College). I have taught middle school students, high school students, adults, the FBI and DEA.

Currently I am an adjunct professor for North Virginia (NOVA) College, and an online course developer and Senior Instructional Designer (contractor) for the US Government.

Where You Can Find Me:

You can find me online (thus the website) as well as teaching for NOVA College.  Check NOVA’s course schedule if you live in the area and want to enroll in my class.  Online you can find me in the following places:

I have also been known to present at various conferences.  When I still lived in Texas I was a regular presenter and workshop host for the Texas Computer Eduction Association (TCEA)
