So it is around 2am our here in North Virginia. I have spent the better part of the entire day finding, buying and installing Adobe Premier Elements, Adobe Photoshop Elements, SnagIt, and Apple’s iBook Author on the new iMac. Some new cables came in from Monoprice.com, so I was able to connect the AG-DVC20P Panasonic camera to some type of new Firewire connection on the back of the computer. Long story short here is one of the new videos. In general I am happy with how it came out. Used a green screen (with some masking) bought a background from Shutterstock, and I think it looks pretty good. I will be using the video on the website mrfordsclass.net as well as embedding it into the iBook I am working on.

Our teacher made a valiant effort but, by the second week, not even he could prevent the students from falling asleep midway through the class.
The purpose of my little trip down memory lane was to help illustrate how even the best instruction can fail if the learning environment is not conducive to learning. In my case I found the geometry classroom during summer school much more comfortable. Continue reading
