Collaboration Journal Review-Class Project
This posting is from a project I had to complete for my Introduction to Public Administration Course at George Mason University.
Behaviorism
Behaviorism’s impact on schools and training has been tremendous. Many of us are products of an education system that subscribed predominately to this school of psychology. It has only been recently that other schools of psychology have gotten any serious tracking. This is not a criticism of Behaviorism, in fact this school has served us well. Like any other professions it is important to explore other methods, and to do that we should have an understanding of all the major schools of thought.
What is Behaviorism?
While this term is well-known in the education world, what does it actually mean? Behaviorism is a school within psychological that deals with learning and personality.
When dealing with an organism, be it human, monkey, pigeon, rat, lawyer, etc…there are three components:
- The stimulus
- The brain
- The outcomes
